JBI is a Union Contractor that is signatory to the LiUNA – Laborer’s Locals 561, 741, 795 and the IUOE Operators Local 181. Anyone applying to JBI Construction should understand that you are either required to be in one of the union locals aforementioned or be willing to join said unions.

HIRING FOR POSITIONS:

Laborer – an individual who is hired to perform manual tasks, utilize and operate hand and power tools and equipment, demolition and debris removal, housekeeping, etc. Laborer responsibilities can include but are not limited to:
➣ Demolition and debris removal
➣ Flagging
➣ Grade checking
➣ Rebar/wire mat installation
➣ Expansion joint
➣ Sign installation
➣ Gang drill operation
➣ Saws
➣ Jackhammers
➣ Air Tool and Power tool operation
➣ Spraying, rolling, brushing of surface sealants, curing compounds, epoxies, etc.

Laborer Concrete Finisher - will complete all items under the Laborer responsibilities and in addition would complete:
➣ Form setting
➣ Pouring and finishing concrete
➣ Sawing of poured concrete

Equipment Operator – an individual who is hired to perform the tasks of operating heavy equipment utilized in day to day activities. Equipment can include:
➣ Back hoe
➣ Excavator
➣ Roller
➣ Grader
➣ Curb and gutter equipment
➣ Dozer
